Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead daily shop workflow, scheduling, work assignments, and technician coverage.
- Supervise technicians while maintaining safety, quality, professionalism, and customer service standards.
- Diagnose, repair, inspect, and oversee work on fleet vehicles, service vehicles, and equipment.
- Use wiring diagrams, hydraulic diagrams, diagnostic tools, tablet-based tools, and email to manage repairs and documentation.
- Communicate with customers, resolve concerns, identify service needs, and support compliance and spill-prevention standards.
- Represent the team professionally while managing priorities with independence and accountability.
Requirements
- Required:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of mechanic experience with diesel, fleet, service vehicle, or equipment maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; Class A or B CDL required.
- Strong hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical repair skills, including the ability to read wiring and hydraulic diagrams.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, tablet-based tools, email, and Microsoft Office to support scheduling, dispatching, repairs, and communication.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, safe work habits, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Must provide basic hand tools, lift up to 50 lbs, and pass eRailSafe background screening, pre-employment drug testing, and random drug testing.
- Preferred:

- Prior lead, foreman, or team management experience.
- Familiarity with Hyrail equipment and ANSI, FRA, DOT, OSHA, and EPA requirements.
- Formal technician or mechanic training, including equipment or long-haul truck training.
- Ability to operate forklifts, telehandlers, hydraulic lifts, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment.

Shifts
- Day shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Overtime available after 40 hours per week
Compensation
- $30.00 – $36.00/hr based on experience
