Job Description
A well-established transportation fleet is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Austin, TX to maintain and repair heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment. Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform minor to major repairs on diesel trucks, tractors, trailers, and related fleet equipment.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, exhaust aftertreatment systems, electrical systems, and related truck components.
- Use engine diagnostic software and testing procedures to identify problems, determine root causes, and confirm repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and regular service to keep fleet equipment operating safely.
- Complete aluminum welding, fabrication, and truck or trailer repair work as needed.
- Perform roadside service calls when required, maintain accurate repair records, and follow safe shop practices.
Requirements
- Required:

- Proven hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic or diesel technician working on heavy-duty trucks, tractors, trailers, or similar fleet equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with diesel engines, electrical systems, and exhaust aftertreatment systems.
- Hands-on experience using heavy-duty diagnostic tools and software.
- Aluminum welding and fabrication experience.
- Ability to diagnose and complete repairs independently in a fast-paced fleet environment.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must provide basic personal hand tools; specialty and larger tools are provided.
- Must pass pre-employment screening, including a drug test and background check.

- Day shift, Monday to Friday

Compensation
- $25.00 – $33.00/hour starting pay based on experience and qualifications
- Weekly pay with time and a half for overtime
- $1,000 sign-on bonus
