Job Description
A respected municipal organization in Cambridge, ON is hiring a Licensed 310T or 310S Fleet Mechanic to inspect, repair, and maintain municipal fleet vehicles and equipment. Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse municipal fleet of vehicles and equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, routine servicing, and fleet inspections.
- Complete periodic mandatory commercial vehicle inspections to support MTO and CVOR compliance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, braking, drivetrain, and related vehicle systems.
- Fabricate, fit, and install parts, components, and assemblies as required.
- Conduct road tests and operational checks to confirm safe and reliable equipment performance.
- Work collaboratively with other technicians to complete repairs and keep fleet operations moving.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop area, including tools and equipment.
- Assist with safe movement of vehicles and equipment using hand signals and verbal direction.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions and respond to after-hours call-outs as required.
Requirements
- Required:

- Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician or 310S Automotive Service Technician Certificate of Qualification from Skilled Trades Ontario.
- High school Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Ontario Class D driver’s license with Z endorsement in good standing.
- Acceptable driver’s abstract.
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance skills.
- Ability to perform physical duties required for fleet maintenance work.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, occasional extended hours, overtime, and on-call duty as required.
- Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training certificate from the Ministry of Labour, or ability to obtain post-offer.
Preferred:

- Dual 310T and 310S certification.
- Experience maintaining municipal, commercial, heavy truck, or mixed fleet vehicles and equipment.

Shifts
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Regular hours are currently scheduled as either 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
- Must be available for rotating shifts, overtime, on-call duty, possible shift work, and occasional extended hours as required.
Compensation
- $39.80 – $42.26/hr for qualified 310T or 310S technicians.
- Additional $2.50/hr premium for candidates holding both 310T and 310S certifications.
