A well-established municipal fleet operation is hiring a Fleet Mechanic in Cambridge, ON to maintain and repair municipal vehicles and equipment. Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on municipal fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Complete preventive maintenance inspections, servicing, and Periodic Mandatory Commercial Vehicle Inspections to support CVOR compliance.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle and equipment components, including designing, fabricating, and fitting parts when needed.
• Perform road and operational tests to confirm repairs and safe vehicle and equipment operation.
• Work with other technicians to complete repairs, safely move vehicles and equipment, and support daily fleet maintenance priorities.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop area, keep tools and equipment ready, and follow safe work practices.

Requirements

• • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid 310S Automotive Service Technician or 310T Truck and Coach Technician Certificate of Qualification from Skilled Trades Ontario.
  • Two to three years of apprenticeship experience, including completed in-school training for the trade.
  • Valid Ontario Class D driver’s license with Z endorsement in good standing and an acceptable driver’s abstract.
  • Hands-on experience inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining fleet vehicles, commercial vehicles, or municipal equipment.
  • Ability to complete preventive maintenance inspections, commercial vehicle inspections, road tests, operational tests, and safe vehicle and equipment movement.
  • Able to meet physical demands, work outdoors in inclement weather, and support overtime, rotating shifts, and after-hours call-outs as required.
