A full-service heavy-duty operation is hiring a Diesel Technician (Road Service & Shop) in Chester, PA to diagnose and repair trucks in the shop and field. Ideal candidates have strong diagnostics and DOT inspection experience. Apply now for steady, hands-on diesel work.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and equipment in both shop and road service settings using work orders, diagnostic software, and checklist-based troubleshooting.
• Perform preventative maintenance, state inspections, and DOT inspections with safety as the top priority.
• Repair diesel engines, brakes, steering, transmissions, electrical systems, air brake systems, and related components.
• Respond to road service calls efficiently, communicate findings clearly, and support fleet uptime in the field and in the shop.
• Perform routine welding repairs with or without prints as required.
• Complete accurate documentation including repair orders, FHWA/PM forms, inspection records, log sheets, and time records.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including the shop, service truck, and assigned equipment, while following all company policies and safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 18 years of age.
• Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty diesel systems including engines, brakes, steering, transmissions, electrical, and air brake systems.
• Ability to perform repairs independently in the field and support shop operations as needed.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and software and follow troubleshooting checklists and work instructions.
• Ability to read and understand technical diagrams, repair estimates, and manufacturer specifications.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented, customer-service mindset.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and valid medical card.
• Ability to pass a motor vehicle record check, criminal background check, and drug screening.
• Physically capable of heavy work, including lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally and working indoors, outdoors, and in varying weather conditions.
