Job Description

A growing crane and service company is seeking a Diesel Equipment Mechanic to join their team in West Deptford, NJ. This is a shop-based position with occasional field service calls, supporting a fleet of mobile cranes, tractors, and forklifts. You'll work in a well-equipped facility with access to modern diagnostic tools and will have the opportunity to expand into the new 40,000 sq. ft. warehouse opening in August.

Requirements

Must-haves:
• 5+ years of equipment maintenance and repair experience
• Strong hydraulics and electrical systems knowledge
• Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools (multimeters, hydraulic testing equipment)
• Experience with diagnostics and maintenance work
• Valid driver's license
• Own tools
• Clean driving record (no DUI, reckless driving, or DWI within 3 years)
• Pass background, criminal, and drug screening

Nice-to-haves:
• Truck mechanic experience
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Experience with turbo repairs, axle work, and hydraulic cylinder replacement
• Familiarity with JPRO, Cummins Insight, or similar diagnostic software

Compensation & Benefits

• Wage: $40–$50/hour (based on experience and skills)
• Overtime: Paid after 8 hours daily; approximately 0–5 hours weekly
• Health Insurance: 100% covered (single); 75% (employee + spouse); 65% (family)
• 401(k): Match of 25 cents per dollar up to 15% of employee contribution
• Paid Time Off: 40 hours vacation, 32 hours sick, 8 hours personal (first 2 years); increases to 80 hours vacation after year 3; 120 hours after 10 years

Hours

• Schedule: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (flexible for exceptional candidates)
• Work Environment: Primarily shop-based with occasional field/road service calls
• Flexibility: Early starts (6:00 AM) or late starts (8:00 AM) possible depending on business needs
• On-Call: Possible on-call requirements under consideration (compensation to be discussed)
