Job Description
We are actively seeking a Diesel Truck Technician in Peoria, IL. Work in a clean, modern shop equipped with OEM software, cranes, and lifts. Perform diagnostics and repairs ranging from basic maintenance to engine rebuilds on medium-duty trucks. Report directly to the Service Manager in a laid-back, family-oriented work environment that values work-life balance.
Requirements:
Must-haves:
- 3+ years of industry experience
- Demonstrated expertise in diagnostics and repair (not basic lubrication work)
- Experience with brakes, suspension, steering, kingpins, light systems, air systems, and aftertreatment systems
- Valid driver's license
- Own tools
Nice-to-haves:
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) — earns $0.50/hour bonus
- Advanced certifications (Cummins, International)
- Engine overhaul experience
Compensation & Benefits:
Wages:
- Starting: $35 - $45/hr
- Monthly Bonuses: Team-based monthly gross margin incentive ($500–$1,500)
- Increases for certifications and licenses

Benefits:
- Health insurance: Starts at 30 days
- Full benefits: Start at 90 days (probationary period)

- Pension: ~$2.50/hour contribution, vested at 30 days
- Vacation: 1 week after 90 days; increases to 2 weeks at year 1, 3 weeks at 5 years, 4 weeks at 10 years

Hours:
Schedule:
- Two shifts available: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM or 12:00 PM–8:30 PM
- Flexibility available for strong candidates
Work environment:
- No mandatory overtime; overtime after 8 hours daily (not weekly)
- No on-call requirements
- No field/service truck work at this time
- Certified shop with modern equipment
