Job Description
A well-established construction equipment company seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our small, collaborative shop team in King City, ON. You'll work on a diverse fleet of specialized heavy equipment, generators, and custom-built machinery. The role offers a unique blend of traditional mechanical repair, component rebuilding, and problem-solving on both refurbished and newer equipment. This is an opportunity to work in a clean, well-lit facility with modern LED lighting, overhead cranes, and full machine shop capabilities. Requirements:
Must-Haves:
- Ticketed Heavy Equipment Technician (preferred) or equivalent hands-on experience
- 3–5 years of experience in heavy equipment repair
- Proficiency with hydraulics, electrical systems, and diesel engines
- Valid driver's license with insurable driving record
- Own tools
- Willingness to travel occasionally (5 days maximum) to job sites in Canada and the US (passport required)
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with drilling equipment or generators
- Experience with custom equipment modifications and fabrication
- Rental fleet or construction equipment background
- Knowledge of component rebuilding and specialized pump work
Compensation & Benefits:
- Wage: $40–$50/hour (flexible for exceptional candidates)

- Vacation: 4% accrual initially, increasing to 6% after 3 years; 2 weeks off annually, 3 weeks after 3 years

Hours:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- No mandatory overtime; any hours beyond 44/week paid at applicable rates
- No weekend or call-out expectations
- Rare after-hours phone consultations only
- Occasional travel to job sites across Canada and the USA
