Job Description

Seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician in Sterling Heights, MI will perform diagnostics, maintenance, repair, welding, and fabrication on a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and material-handling equipment. The role is split between a heated 6,000 sq. ft. mechanic shop and field service, supported by a fully equipped service truck.

Requirements:

Must-haves:
• Strong diagnostic skills with electrical and hydraulic systems
• Experience working on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance (PMs)
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Own hand tools; company provides some tools

Nice-to-haves:
• Experience with a diverse fleet of heavy equipment and trucks
• Field service experience
• Experience with diagnostic software

Compensation & Benefits:
• $30–$50/hour based on skills and experience; overtime paid at time-and-a-half
• Bi-annual bonuses up to $10,000 annually

Hours:
• Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
• Saturdays when necessary
• Average 50–60 hours per week
• Approximately 50% field service and 50% shop work
• Heated 6,000 sq. ft. mechanic shop
