Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy construction equipment, diesel trucks, trailers, excavators, dozers, cranes, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, and similar equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, inspections, and routine service to keep equipment and vehicles safe, reliable, and operational.
- Repair, dismantle, reassemble, overhaul, and test mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems using appropriate tools and lifting equipment.
- Inspect parts for damage or excessive wear, source replacement parts, and complete repairs safely and efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and operate or test equipment after repairs to verify proper performance.
- Complete work orders, parts requests, logs, timecards, and vehicle inspections, and handle service calls or roadside repairs as needed.
Requirements
- Required:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous mechanic or technician experience repairing heavy equipment, trucks, or similar machinery, with working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to complete repairs safely and minimize equipment downtime.
- Valid Class A or B CDL, or ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to work independently as the primary mechanic supporting the Kansas City area.
- Member of, or willing to join, IUOE Local 101.
- Able to perform physical repair work, lift and move equipment or machinery parts, and work safely around heavy construction equipment.

- Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining cranes.

Shifts
- Day shift, Monday to Friday
- Overtime and weekend work may be required based on project needs
Compensation
- $48.00 – $53.00/hour starting pay based on experience
