Diesel Mechanic – Heavy Trucks & Trailers
Job Description
A well-established, family-owned diesel truck and trailer repair shop in Rock Springs, WY is hiring a Diesel Truck Mechanic to diagnose and repair semi-trucks and trailers. Ideal candidates are experienced diesel technicians with strong diesel engine repair, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills. Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair semi-trucks and trailers across various makes and models.
- Identify and resolve diesel engine and mechanical issues using shop equipment and technical resources.
- Handle a variety of truck and trailer repairs while maintaining quality workmanship and efficient turnaround.
- Collaborate with fellow technicians to troubleshoot challenging repairs and share technical knowledge.
- Complete repairs safely and accurately to return customer vehicles to service.
- Participate in rotating on-call coverage for after-hours service and repair calls.
Requirements
- Required:

- 2+ years of diesel engine repair experience in a professional shop.
- Hands-on experience with diesel truck repairs, mechanical troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and no previous suspensions or DUIs.
- Willingness to participate in rotating on-call coverage.
- Strong teamwork skills, attention to detail, and pride in quality workmanship.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

- 5+ years of professional diesel repair shop experience.
- 1+ year of experience with diesel aftertreatment systems.
- 1+ year of diesel diagnostics and electrical repair experience
- ASE certification.

Shifts
- Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Daily team meeting at 7:50 AM, with a one-hour lunch break
- Overtime available as needed, paid after 40 hours worked per week
- On-call coverage for one week every 3–4 weeks
Compensation
- $25.00 – $40.00+/hour base pay based on experience
- $3,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates
- Weekly efficiency bonuses offering an additional $3 – $10+/hour based on billed hours and performance
- Additional weekly, monthly, and quarterly individual and team bonuses
- $75 per after-hours service call-out, paid directly to the technician
- Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
