Service Equipment Technician
Job Description
A well-established equipment rental and service provider in West Allis, WI, is hiring a Service Equipment Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair rental and customer-owned equipment. Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair rental fleet and customer-owned equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical and operational problems and recommend appropriate repairs or corrective action.
- Service small engines, diesel equipment, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, fuel, and mechanical systems.
- Respond to customer calls, outside service requests, parts inquiries, and equipment operating questions.
- Look up parts and prepare repair estimates for customer-owned and rental equipment.
- Check equipment for safe operation, complete routine service, and pressure wash equipment as needed.
Requirements
- Required:

- Mechanical aptitude or hands-on repair knowledge with strong troubleshooting ability.
- Basic computer skills for parts lookup, estimates, and service-related tasks.
- Ability to read parts diagrams, schematics, and technical materials used for equipment diagnosis and repair.
- Professional customer service skills when assisting internal and external customers.
- Able to lift 50–75 lbs and perform repairs requiring standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
- Able to work outdoors in hot and cold weather when required.

- Small-engine repair knowledge and experience diagnosing diesel starting and running issues.
- Experience with AC/DC electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, ignition, fuel, and mechanical control systems.
- Familiarity with midsized construction equipment, generators, air compressors, pumps, heating systems, and gas, hydraulic, or electric saws.

Shifts
- Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 42.5-hour work week
- Overtime paid after 40 hours
Compensation
- $20.00 – $30.00/hour
- Annual tool allowance, company-provided uniforms, and ongoing training
- Annual performance reviews
