A long-established moving company is hiring a Diesel Fleet Mechanic in Woodbridge, VA to maintain and repair diesel and gas trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment. Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, computer diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on a mixed fleet of diesel and gas equipment, including newer model trucks and trailers.
• Maintain tractors, straight trucks, box trucks, vans, trailers, pickups, and related equipment used in daily moving operations.
• Use diagnostic tools and OEM software to identify faults, troubleshoot modern truck systems, and support accurate repairs.
• Inspect vehicles, address driver-reported issues, and help keep equipment safe, reliable, and ready for dispatch.
• Document completed repairs, dates, mileage, parts, and work performed to support fleet records, state inspections, and DOT compliance.
• Organize daily repair priorities while coordinating with operations on scheduling, parts, and equipment downtime.

Requirements

• Required:

• • 3+ years of experience repairing diesel trucks, fleet vehicles, trailers, or similar equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and general fleet repairs.
  • Working knowledge of diesel systems, gas vehicles, electrical components, sensors, and modern truck technology.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and OEM software to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Able to manage daily priorities, communicate with drivers and operations, and keep accurate repair records.
  • Must provide personal tools; specialty tools or diagnostic licenses may be provided as needed.
  • Must complete pre-employment background check and drug screening and follow drug-free workplace requirements.
