Job Description
A well-established operation in Torbay, Newfoundland is looking to add an experienced Diesel Mechanic to their team. This role will focus on maintaining and repairing a mixed fleet of heavy-duty trucks and heavy equipment, supporting daily operations in a fast-paced environment.
This is a primarily shop-based role (approximately 90% shop / 10% field) with occasional field service required to support fleet uptime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel-powered trucks and heavy equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and general repairs to ensure fleet reliability.
- Repair engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, cooling systems, and drivetrain components.
- Perform inspections to identify wear, safety concerns, and maintenance needs.
- Complete service documentation and maintain accurate repair records.
- Support occasional field service repairs as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized shop and follow all safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience working on heavy-duty trucks and/or heavy equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance and inspections independently.
- Comfortable working primarily in a shop with occasional field work.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must have own tools.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $35.00 – $40.00 per hour, based on experience.

Shift & Schedule:
- 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- 10 days on / 4 days off rotation
