Job Description

A well-established company is seeking a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Wantagh, NY to diagnose, repair and maintain a fleet of Heavy Construction Equipment.  The ideal candidate is skilled in hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical systems, welding/fabrication, and can work independently while maintaining high safety and quality standards

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience working on Heavy Equipment 
• Ability to read and understand schematics and service manuals is preferred
• Mechanics with strong capabilities in diesel engines, diagnostics, electrical, and hydraulic systems will be strongly preferred.
• A positive work attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work both independently and as a team are required
• Welding/fabrication experience is preferred 
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in shop/field environments
• Equipment experience with Excavators, Loaders, Dozers, Skid Steers, Backhoes, Trucks & Trailers and other heavy construction equipment
• Valid Drivers License (CDL would be considered an asset)

Compensation:

• $37.00 - $55.00/hour to start, dependent on experience
• Overtime available

Shifts:

• Day Shifts, 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday
• OT after 40 hours
