Job Description

This Heavy Transport Red Seal Mechanic position is based in 20 kilometers outside of Moncton, New Brunswick, and supports a fleet maintenance operation responsible for commercial vehicle inspections, running repairs, and general maintenance.

The shop operates in a small yet clean, well-organized environment and this role offers a respectful and flexible workplace with reasonable timelines and a strong emphasis on quality workmanship — no high-pressure sales environment or rush mentality.

Requirements

Must-Haves

• Heavy Transport Red Seal certification
• Valid driver's license
• Third-year Heavy Transport apprenticeship considered for highly qualified candidates who are willing and eligible to complete their Red Seal certification
• Own tools, including up to 3/4" drive and 1.5" wrenches
• Valid driver's abstract — must be insurable

Nice-to-Haves

• Volvo or Mack truck experience
• Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVI) license
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Experience working on Volvo, Freightliner, or Mack trucks
• Previous experience in fleet maintenance or commercial truck repair

Compensation & Benefits

• Wage: $42–$44/hour, based on experience and qualifications
• Overtime: Paid after 44 hours per week
• Tool Allowance: $500
• Boot Allowance: $250
• Coverall Service: Provided
• Benefits: Comprehensive benefits coverage after 90 days; terms negotiable
• Vacation: 2–4 weeks, based on experience and negotiable

Hours & Work Schedule

• Shift: Day shift, typically 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Flexible start times available
• Overtime: Optional, with approximately 2 hours per week typically available
• On-Call: No on-call requirement
• Work Location: Fully shop-based
• Facility: 2-bay maintenance shop with no vehicle lifts
• Work Environment: Clean, well-lit, organized shop with a supportive team environment
